The international prize for architecture held by Publicomm, ARCHMARATHON AWARDS, is in Miami for its fourth edition, a special edition focusing on the “new world”. The contest is open only to projects built in the United States, Canada, and Central and Latin America and architectural practices operating in those areas.
Fiandre, an Italian leader in the production of surfaces for architecture and innovation in ceramics founded in 1961, is sponsoring the event through Transceramica, the distributor of its brands in the USA. The only sponsor in the ceramics industry, Fiandre confirms its total commitment to supporting good practice in architecture in different countries and contexts.
From October 12 through 14 2017, 42 architectural studios selected and invited by the ArchMarathon Awards jury will present their projects during an open call at the Faena Forum, one of three buildings designed by OMA for Miami’s new Faena art and design district. The projects will be broken down into 8 macrocategories covering various fields in architecture: from infrastructure and landscape projects (moving) to residential architecture and interior design (living), from buildings for art and culture (dreaming) to offices (working), as well as bars, restaurants and hotels (chilling out), sports centres (caring) and future construction projects (visioning) and renovations (re-thinking). At the end of the three days in Miami, a winner will be announced in each category as well as a final “overall winner”. The overall winner in 2016 was Seashore Library, designed by Vector Architects.
