Winners and commendations for the 2020 Architekturpreis Beton, Germany

Architekturpreis Beton recognizes outstanding achievements in the use of concrete for architecture and is one of the most eagerly awaited awards to learn about the state of the art of German architecture. Since 2008, the Federal Association of the German Cement Industry has awarded the prize in collaboration with the German association of architects (BDA), and this year’s recipients are four equal-ranking winners and four commendations.

Starting on 31 January 2020, Frankfurt’s DAM Deutsches Architekturmuseum hosts an exhibition about the projects entered for the DAM Preis 2020, a competition for the best architecture in Germany held since 2007. The winning project in 2020 is the James Simon Galerie in Berlin, designed by David Chipperfield Architects.

Winners of the Barbara Cappochin International Prize for Architecture

The Barbara Cappochin International Prize for Architecture goes to Fasch & Fuchs Architekten design studio for the Aspern Federal School. "Cava Arcari", the multi-purpose space at Colli Berici (the hills around Vicenza) designed by David Chipperfield Architects wins the Regional Award. The award ceremony will take place on October 26 at the Palazzo della Ragione in Padova.
