Harry Gugger Studio’s conversion of Basel’s historic Silo Erlenmatt is the key element in a new masterplan for the dynamic Erlenmatt Ost district. Used for storing grain and cocoa beans in the twentieth century, the former silo now contains a hostel, a restaurant and gallery spaces.

Camp Sarika by Amangiri, retreat in the wilderness of Utah

Skylab gives the W San Francisco a makeover

The W San Francisco hotel has been revamped by Portland-based firm, Skylab as part of a multi-stage project. The design team drew their inspiration from the city’s history, from the days of the gold rush, through to the psychedelic ‘60s and ‘70s to create a unique experience for guests in a LEED-EBOM certified facility.

Tsingpu Yangzhou Retreat: "The Brick Wall" by Neri & Hu

Tsingpu Yangzhou Retreat is a luxury boutique hotel on a little lake in the Chinese town of Yangzhou. Designed by famous studio Neri&Hu, the project combines a series of little old abandoned buildings in a single architectural whole, restored and brought together within walls of reclaimed brick that give the entire structure a unified, contemporary architectural identity.

India, Aria Hotel by Sanjay Puri Architects

Mumbai-based studio Sanjay Puri Architects has built Aria Hotel, offering hospitality in Nashik, in the northern region of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Situated on the banks of river Godavari, the hotel has been designed around sustainability, with the use of local materials, energy efficiency and more, to offer guests environmentally-friendly accommodation.

Zaha Hadid Architects ME Dubai hotel and The Opus in Dubai

Laurian Ghinitoiu’s splendid photographs offer us a glimpse of the interiors of the ME Dubai, the hotel recently inaugurated in The Opus, a skyscraper in an unusual hollow cube shape designed by Zaha Hadid in 2007. The new hotel, a member of the Spanish Melia Hotels International chain, is the only hotel for which Zaha Hadid supplied not only the architecture but the interior design.
