YUUA designed a house in Tokyo only 1.8 metres wide

The Japanese refer to long, narrow lots as "eel’s beds". On one of these, YUUA Architects and Associates built a whole house, accepting the tough challenge of making life pleasant in a building only one metre and eighty centimetres wide.

De Bank, the name of the building containing KAAN Architecten's new headquarters in Rotterdam, recalls the building's original function as the former headquarters of the Nederlandsche Bank. It is located in the heart of the city, on the banks of the Meuse River by the Erasmus Bridge, and another KAAN Architecten project, the Education Centre at Erasmus University Medical Centre.
