Solano Benitez architecture events at Cersaie

Paraguayan architect and teacher Solano Benítez, founder of the professional association “Gabinete de Arquitectura”, will be among the international guests at the 33rd Cersaie International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings coming up in Bologna September 28 through October 2 2015 .
After graduating from Asunción National University in 1986, in 1987 Solano Benitez founded “Gabinete de Arquitectura”, in which he still works with his colleague Gloria Cabral.

Solano Benitez’s architecture is characterised by strong links with his homeland, revealed in use of local labour and of brick as the key construction material. Benitez has received numerous awards over the course of his thirty-year career as an architect and/or professional studio, the most recent of which include the first BSI Swiss Architectural Award in 2008, an honourable mention from the National Congress of Paraguay in 2011, election as ‘Arquitecto del Bicentenario’ by the Paraguayan Architects’ Association, and appointment as an honorary member of the AIA (American Institute of Architects) in 2012.
