Romi Khosla Design Studios, Shantanu and Nikhil Showroom

The showroom designed by architects Martand Khosla and Romi Khosla for stylists Shantanu and Nikhil in New Delhi is a small space entirely covered in wooden panels which conceal service areas such as the storage space and changing rooms as well as the technical installations. There are no interruptions between floor and ceiling; the panels have no corners, but curve gently and cover all the available space, even fitting around the cash desk. The design concept was inspired by Romi Khosla Design Studios’ need to experiment with architectural solutions for a design competition. The idea for the study competition was using wooden panels to create a contemporary reinterpretation of the “silk road rdquo;.
