Ostuni, Hotel Monte Sarago by Domenico Sasso

Hotel, Sport & Wellness, Restaurants,

Porcelain Tile,

Architect Domenico Sasso has designed a modern hotel in an existing building, a workshop dating back to the 40s on one of the hills in Ostuni, from which it gets its name, "Monte Sarago".

Ostuni, Hotel Monte Sarago by Domenico Sasso Architect Domenico Sasso adapted a building dating back to the 1940s for use as a hotel without altering the building?s original features, but preserving a number of elements, such as the smokestack, identifying the building in the fabric of the city and among the buildings surrounding it.

In the renovation project, the architect took the relief of the land into account and used it to add value to the new facility. He chose the materials, colours and furnishings to add comfort and elegance to the rationality of the existing industrial architecture.

In the hotel rooms, for example, the floor is covered with Madreperla Bianco from Iris Ceramica?s MA.DE collection to underline the room?s brightness and minimal furnishings. In the bathrooms, which are decorated in different colours depending on the furnishings, he used porcelain stoneware from Iris Ceramica?s VELVET collection. And in the common areas (the hall, restaurant and conference room) he chose Factory from the ARCHITET collection, in the 60x120 size, to create contrasts with the light colours of the walls and furniture.
