Morphogenesis, All Day Dining restaurant, Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu

Indian architecture firm, Morphogenesis has completed the refurbishment of the restaurant All Day Dining in the Soaltee Crowne Plaza di Kathmandu, Nepal. Given the traditional nature of the building, the architecture firm was faced with a number of problems; in the first place, the need to construct modern, practical architecture while respecting Nepal’s rich, ancient culture, in other words artistic and architectural tradition with contemporary solutions and natural elements .

For example, different textures and colours of stones have been used in the entry hall to give the idea of the surrounding mountain range, emphasising this passage from the natural environment to the manmade environment.

Rice paper, Thanka paintings, metal and wood jaalis are just some of the materials and elements used, all of which are local and designed exclusively for this project .
