International Architecture Awards presented in Athens

The autumn of 2017 will see presentation of plenty of international architecture awards. First of all, on August 18 the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies announced the winners of the International Architecture Awards. Here are some of the figures: 75 winning projects, selected from among over 300 entrants from all five continents and fully 28 different countries.
The awards ceremony will be held on September 8 during a gala evening at the Contemporary Space Athens, which will also see the opening of a travelling exhibition "The City and the World" featuring the award-winning projects.

The judges of the International Architecture Awards have selected projects on different scales offering a complete overview of the architects’ work and a demonstration that quality architecture is not entirely a matter of major projects and big budgets. The long list of winners includes only one Italian project, Il Maggiore Events Centre in Verbania by SPA Architect.
Many of the winning projects have already been presented in Floornature, including:

The Waterfront Pavilion, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia by Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (fjmt)

The Quest, a home in Swanage, UK designed by Ström Architects.

The Alesia Cinema in Paris by Manuelle Gautrand Architecture.

The 42 Barretts Grove homes in London by Amin Taha Architects, which were also shortlisted for the Riba Stirling Prize.

The University of Iowa Visual Arts Building by Steven Holl Architects.

Grace Farms in New Canaan, Connecticut - USA by SANAA.
