Foster + Partners: the Art of Architecture
The architecture of Foster + Partners is on exhibit in Hong Kong until September 22 2011. The exhibition is divided into theme areas presenting 227 projects in 20 countries: the complete works of Foster+Partners since 1967, when the studio was known as Foster Associates.

The key themes are infrastructures, sustainability, urban design, history and culture. Each project, a building constructed or under construction by Foster + Partners, is classified under one of these key themes.

The studio's production is highly diversified by function, scale and of course destination country. Each project is connected to the others by a common thread: the conviction that the quality of the built environment has a direct impact on quality of life, leading to a need for an integrated approach to energy and environmental issues, key themes of Foster + Partners' work.

Spencer de Grey, a Senior Partner in the studio, notes that Hong Kong has played an important role in the evolution of Foster's practice ever since he won the 1979 competition for construction of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank.
