Experience…Finland is coming up in Genoa

Experience…Finland is an event conceived and presented by architect Arianna Callocchia to promote Finnish culture through a series of architecture and design initiatives. On each leg of the voyage new content is added to the cultural initiative; in Genoa, for instance, the opening was preceded by a conference entitled “Nordic Silence” by Finnish architect Marko Kivistö of studio LPR Architects Ltd in Turku, who presented the studio?s new plans for the Helsinki Music Center.  In Genoa, the Contemporary architecture in Finland exhibition produced by ATL - Association of Finnish Architects’ Offices of Helsinki with graphic design by architect Heikki Pälviä was completed by a number of contemporary design installations, including “The Tree”, a space divider designed by Eero Aarnio for Martela and a number of “Birds” designed by Oiva Toikka for Iittala, as well as classic items from Alvar Aalto?s collection, still in production, and items from Kaj Franck?s collection to mark the 100th anniversary of his birth.
