The SUOMI SEVEN exhibition that the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM) is co-producing with the Museum of Finnish Architecture and the Architecture Information Centre Finland is showcasing Finland’s new generation of architects. These up-and-coming architecture talents have been involved in major projects because of Finland’s well-established tradition of open architecture competitions, which encourage the “learning by doing” approach.
Right now, Finland is also going through a building boom caused by its urban transformation, where the constantly growing cities require adequate infrastructures.
Still, apart from major public works like schools, universities, churches, libraries, the SUOMI SEVEN exhibition also includes small holiday homes.  A complete overview of contemporary Finish architecture worthy of the big names from the past who laid the foundations for the architecture design culture.
The exhibition is curated by Peter Cachola Schmal and Anna Scheuermann (both from DAM) and Juulia Kauste, director of the Museum of Finnish Architecture (MFA).
The exhibiting practices are: ALA Architects Ltd,  Anttinen Oiva Architects Ltd, Avanto Architects Ltd, Esa Ruskeepää Architects Ltd, OOPEAA Office for Peripheral Architecture, Architects Rudanko + Kankkunen Ltd and Verstas Architects Ltd.
