Peter Eisenman, David Chipperfield, Rafael Moneo,
Rome,

The fourth Piranesi Prix de Rome, following in the footsteps of Rafael Moneo (2010), Guido Canali (2011) and David Chipperfield (2013), will be American architect Peter Eisenman, this year’s winner of the prestigious prize presented by the Accademia Adrianea di Architettura e Archeologia and the Order of Architects of the Province of Rome.
The awards ceremony will be held on March 10 at the Casa dell'Architettura Acquario Romano following speeches by Franco Purini and Francesco Dal Co and a lectio magistralis by Peter Eisenman.
Peter Eisenman’s lecture will focus on the concept of archaeology as a design technique based on layering. The architect will present his theoretical work, particularly the recent "Piranesi. Variations", a new interpretation of Piranesi’s work on the Campus Martius of ancient Rome.
