Until 30 August, anyone visiting Berlin - the hip, go-to Summer destination - can explore the new trends of contemporary photography. A group exhibition at the KunstHalle of Deutsche Bank called “Photo-Poetics: An Anthology” is showcasing selected works by Claudia Angelmaier, Erica Baum, Anne Collier, Moyra Davey, Leslie Hewitt, Elad Lassry, Lisa Oppenheim, Erin Shirreff, Kathrin Sonntag and Sara VanDerBeek.

It highlights the ongoing relationship between Deutsche Bank KunstHalle in Berlin and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and proof once more of the importance and influence of photography as an art medium in the third millennium.

The exhibition is organised by Jennifer Blessing, Guggenheim Museum’s Senior Curator of Photography, who has created an interesting backdrop by stressing the tension between the digital, ephemeral world and the attempt by these artists to produce something more tangible and permanent, made through different approaches to the photography medium, to its story and to its use as a tool for remembering.

She actually talks about the poetry of the image, and the fact that photographers make their images speak in different ways. Here, everything is a look at the visual truths and imaginary images of the artists and at the development of photography as an oeuvre.

After Deutsche Bank KunstHalle in Berlin, the exhibition will be moved to New York's Guggenheim Museum where it will be on show from 20 November 2015 to 23 March 2016.
