Exhibition Lesezone or the art of publishing, vai Lesezone - reading zone - the exhibition organised by the Vorarlberger Architektur Institut (vai), explores the theme of publishing as the basis of content and creativity for a reflection on architecture. Communication, as we have said before is proving to be the last significant frontier for architecture.
A Biennale with lots communicators working on the curating teams of the exhibitions, communicators who have become partners in leading architecture firms, and now the exhibition that the Vorarlberg architecture institute - vai - is dedicating to the theme of publishing, and therefore to communicating architecture. We are in the middle of a major rethink of one of the fundamental aspects for disseminating and acknowledging architecture, a discipline that influences our daily lives since it physically shapes the spaces we inhabit.

At the vai, with Lesezone - reading zone - we can enjoy a collection of architecture magazines, daily newspapers, and blogs from all over the world. A wide range of traditional and new media that all express the theme of architecture and of space, each in their own individual style, but with the same common denominator - architecture and the evolution and design of our living space.

The vai library is open for the general public to browse and new arrivals have been added for this occasion. A programme of collateral events is also being offered during the month of the exhibition - opening on 24 May and running until 25 June - including the reading hour on 9 June to kick-off ideas for discussing the theme, a media workshop for children from 8 years and older to create an architecture magazine with photos, texts and critiques. All in all, a great opportunity for publishers, designers and editors to swap and share ideas in order to explore this last significant frontier of architecture: communication.
