Bernard Tschumi wins the Piranesi Prix de Rome for lifetime achievement

At the fifth edition of the Piranesi Prix de Rome, an award for high classical culture in architecture, on March 20 2015 the award for lifetime achievement will be presented to architect Bernard Tschumi.



Bernard Tschumi wins the Piranesi Prix de Rome for lifetime achievement

The Accademia Adrianea di Architettura e Archeologia and the Order of Architects of the Province of Rome have announced that the Piranesi Prix de Rome 2015, an award for high classical culture in architecture, will be presented on March 20 2015 to architect Bernard Tschumi.
On the occasion, the architect will hold a lectio magistralis focusing on one of his most important projects, the Museum of the Acropolis in Athens, and the relationship between theory and design in the architecture profession.
Over the course of his career Bernard Tschumi has received numerous awards and acknowledgements, including the Grand Prix National d'Architecture, the Légion d'Honneur e l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres; the Museum of the Acropolis in Athens won a Prize of Honour from AIA, the American Institute of Architects, and was shortlisted for the 2011 Mies Van Der Rohe award.
