Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos Public library Ceuta
The public library of Ceuta (Spain), designed by Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos, was built on an archaeological site dating back to the 14th century and which is a testimony to the Berber Marinid dynasty. The library was among the 19 finalist projects chosen for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.

Paredes Pedrosa: Public library in Ceuta
Built on an archaeological site dating back to the Marinid Berber dynasty, the new Ceuta public library designed by Paredes Pedrosa arquitectos embraces two cultural functions, linking the present with the past. The metal grids of the side surfaces reduce the impact of the African sun on the interior, improving the building’s environmental sustainability.
