Dorte Mandrup exhibition, Copenhagen PLACE Aedes Architecture Forum

The Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin offers its visitors a fascinating exhibition on the relationship between architecture and place. Five projects by the Copenhagen-based firm Dorte Mandrup are the examples that will allow the public to understand how similar functions, museums and visitor centres, give rise to architectural works that are conceptually and completely different in terms of materiality, form and structure, precisely because of their relationship to the place they belong to.

Snøhetta designs Duett Düsseldorf, a new cultural hub for Düsseldorf

Duett Düsseldorf, the project for the city of Düsseldorf's new cultural hub designed by the Snøhetta architecture studio, was unveiled recently. The chosen site is in the city centre, close to the Hofgarten park, the river Rhine and the famous and vital Königsallee street. The two iconic towers of Duett Düsseldorf will rise here, seemingly dancing together. The project will also incorporate a large roof garden open to the public, and an opera house of international standing.

Powerhouse Company brings nature into the city with HOLT

HOLT, a project by architectural practices Powerhouse Company, Houben/Van Mierlo, and Vector-i with landscape design studio DELVA, has won the competition to build a new green, healthy neighbourhood in Groningen. The project involves construction of new residential buildings, offices and other public spaces, including a new park. The 320 residences will be built with an urban density permitting an inclusive relationship with nature.

Human:Nature Dorte Mandrup Exhibition in Berlin

The architect Dorte Mandrup was recently awarded AW Architekt des Jahres 2019 (AW Architect of the Year) by AW Architektur & Wohnen Magazine, Hamburg. For the first time, from August 16, 2019, the magazine in collaboration with the Aedes Architecture Forum presents a comprehensive exhibition in Berlin, on the work of the Danish architect and her design studio.
