The plans for expansion of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston have been unveiled. Architect Steven Holl came up with a masterplan for the entire campus and designed two buildings, while Lake|Flato Architects designed the conservation and restoration centre.
The Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, the museum designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, is hosting the exhibition titled “Stick and Stones. An intervention”, David Chipperfield’s reflection of the materials used in this historical building and alluding to the future construction site.
Work is being completed on the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago, ready for the inauguration scheduled for September; the building was opened to the public on March 26 for a preview of exhibitions and events.
American Architects and the City focuses on the period between the Second World War and the ten-year anniversary of the attacks on the Twin Towers, also presenting the finalists for reconstruction of Ground Zero.
The museum in Berlin designed by David Chipperfield has won the Mies Van der Rohe Award – EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture. The award will be presented on June 20 at the Mies Van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona.
