Grimshaw Architects is a worldwide known firm, founded in 1980 by Sir Nicholas Grimshaw, an architect who has dedicated his entire career with unchanged coherence to innovation and sustainability, receiving perhaps one of the highest number of recognitions. Guest of our podcast as representative of the practice is Andrew Whalley, part of the company since its earliest days, since 1986, Deputy Chairman in 2011 and succeeded Sir Nicholas Grimshaw in 2019 as Chairman of the global leadership structure, actually embracing offices in Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Dubai, Melbourne, and Sydney.

The first 12 events in The Architects Series, the event format created by The Plan magazine for SpazioFMGperl'Architettura, the gallery and showroom of Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, top brands in the Iris Ceramica Group, are now available online. Each episode is a double event featuring a documentary film offering a behind-the-scenes look at the architectural practice and interviews conducted at SpazioFMG per l'Architettura during meetings with the architects.

Iris Ceramica Group and SOS - School of Sustainability present Going Around in Circles
The Iris Ceramica Group’s London showroom hosted the first of a new series of events all over the world focusing on the Circular Economy, organised by the Italian group of companies in partnership with SOS - School of Sustainability, founded by Mario Cucinella. The round table entitled "Going Around in Circles: Disruption, Recycling and Sustainability" saw the participation of Annabel Koeck, Clare Brass, Mario Cucinella and Michael Braungart, moderated by Paul Finch, director of the WAF World Architecture Festival.

Grimshaw Architects designs the London Bridge Station in London
The London Bridge Station redevelopment project, completed by Grimshaw Architects, certainly has not gone unnoticed. And not just because it was selected as one of the finalists of the RIBA Stirling Prize 2019! For the duration of the construction work, the oldest railway station in Greater London - and one of the oldest in the world - never closed its doors to the numerous commuters and tourists crowding its platforms on a daily basis, who were able to follow the bold transformation, day by day.

Winners of the 2018 World Architecture Festival in Amsterdam
Three days of winners and prizes featuring important international speakers, with 130 judges representing fully 35 countries: the best architecture in the world was on show in Amsterdam at the 2018 World Architecture Festival.

Royal Gold Medal for Architecture 2019 awarded to Sir Nicholas Grimshaw
Architect Nicholas Grimshaw has been awarded the Royal Gold Medal for Architecture 2019, the most important British award for architecture. His studio Grimshaw Architects was featured in the second event in The Architects Series, the exhibition format presented by SpazioFMG per l’Architettura, the Milanese gallery run by the Iris Ceramica Group.

Grimshaw Shanghai Disney Resort Tomorrowland
This is the last week of the second event in The Architects Series, a new cultural format offered by the Iris Ceramica Group’s Milanese gallery. Visitors can view a docu-film on Grimshaw studio, which designed the Disney theme park in Shanghai, until June 8.

In Oman the construction of the largest botanic garden on the Arabian peninsula, and indeed the world, is underway. The project was created in partnership with the Arup, Grimshaw and Haley Sharpe Design (hsd) studios.
