Thanks to the design strategy adopted by studio Saxe, The Atrium House makes use of natural ventilation to passively cool the rooms and achieve a high level of living comfort without wasting energy.

In Costa Rica, Studio Saxe, founded by architect Benjamin G. Saxe, worked with family-run business Andaluz on a number of residential projects. Profoundly convinced of the wellness that can be induced by the natural environment and ecologically conscious living, the clients asked the architect to design homes that make the most of the natural environment to offer new living experiences. The Courtyard House in Nosara is one of the projects in this residential development where humans live in harmony with nature.

Oliver Schütte and A-01 built Casa Sin Huella, a home with zero environmental impact located at the top of Whale Bay in Costa Rica. All the utility areas are contained in a single central block with the living spaces arranged around it.
