MVRDV’S Glass Farm has been completed and will be featured in a book published by NAi Publishers.

MVRDV, Glass Farm, the Netherlands
Construction of the Glass Farm, a multipurpose building designed by MVRDV in Schijndel in the Netherlands, has been completed right on schedule.

We presented Glass Farm in Floornature in May 2012, when the studio founded by architects Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries publicly unveiled the project.

The architects worked with artist Frank van der Salm, analysing, measuring and photographing all the farms in the area to come up with the ideal image reproduced on the glass walls of the building, the idea underlying the project.

The building is the architects? response to the need to fill in a vacant space created by the damage caused during Operation Market Garden in the Second World War.
MVRDV presented a total of seven proposals for the site before the Glass Farm was accepted. It will soon be the subject of a book published by NAi Publishers.
