Architect Matteo Nunziati designed a 50-storey apartment tower containing the Fraser Suites, a five-star hotel and temporary residence in West Bay, the most prestigious neighbourhood in Doha. The interior design project was implemented in 388 long-term stay apartments as well as the common areas, lobby and restaurant. The challenge facing the architect was to create refined contemporary interiors combining Arabian decorative motifs with outstanding Italian products such as Molteni furnishings, FontanaArte light fixtures, Teuco bathroom fixtures, and Fiandre surface coverings.
Fiandre’s Marmi Maximum collection of maxi-slabs, porcelain surfaces measuring 300x150 cm and only 6 mm thick, cover the prestigious spaces in the Fraser Suites. The architect chose a number of different collections, all with a glossy finish underlining the qualities of the material and the perception of space. Travertino Maximum slabs in colours recalling the warm hues of the desert are featured in the lobby, creating a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere for arriving guests. The sumptuous elegance of the restaurant with its Middle Eastern decorative motifs is underlined by Calacatta Maximum surfaces, while the exclusiveness of the 32nd floor lounge is set off by Gold Onyx Maximum. The strong point of the architectural studio’s partnership with Fiandre was the company’s constant presence, from the initial negotiations to the installation of the material, making the company a valuable partner for the architect, in a partnership of essential importance in managing a complex construction project demanding particularly high standards of quality.
