Lisbon Architecture Triennale The Form of Form

On the occasion of the fourth LisbonArchitecture Triennale, scheduled for October 5 through December 11 2016, curators André Tavares and Diogo Seixas Lopes announced an open call for selection of events (exhibitions, workshops and conferences) for inclusion in the calendar of the Portuguese event. 14 of the proposals were selected, from different countries: Germany, United Kingdom, France, United States and Australia, bringing international breadth and different points of view to the Lisbon Triennale and enriching it with multidisciplinary events.
The curatorial team chose events which not only propose different approaches but expand the geographic range of the event with initiatives in the city's suburbs and lesser-known areas.
The selected projects were proposed by individuals, groups and institutions, such as the The World of Charles and Ray Eames, a retrospective commissioned by the Barbican Art Gallery of London which will be one of the key events at MAAT - Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology – EDP Foundation. The new museum, still being completed, was designed by architect Amanda Levete and will be directed by Pedro Gadanho (former curator of the architecture section of MoMA in New York). MAAT will be one of the locations of the Architecture Triennale, along with South Garage of the Belém Cultural Centre and the Gulbenkian Foundation.
