Work has begun on Gustafson Guthrie Nichol’s landscaping project for the new CityCenterDC residential district in Washington, DC. Foster + Partners’ master plan was produced in collaboration with Shalom Baranes Associates.
Gustafson Guthrie Nichol architectural studios announced the start of work on the CityCenterDC in Washington, DC in March.In the project for redevelopment of the former Convention Center site, Gustafson Guthrie Nichol provided the landscape architecture plan, contributing to the master plan produced by Foster + Partners in partnership with Shalom Baranes Associates.
The project includes creation of Northwest Park and "Central Plaza" as well as terraces with green roofs and gardens in various buildings.
The complex is a pedestrian zone intended to become an important residential district with shops and restaurants to attract visitors.
