Exhibition Marcel Breuer...Sun & Shadow

Villa Noailles France houses a permanent exhibition called Charles et Marie-Laure de Noailles, une vie de mécènes, dedicated to the patron couple who own the building and who support young designers and artists.
Every year, within the collection, as part of the Festival Design Parade, there is a focus on a specific theme or artist connected to Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles; for this eighth edition, the exhibition is dedicated to Marcel Breuer...Sun & Shadow.

The title draws its name from Marcel Breuer?s book Sun & Shadow, published in 1955. The exhibition aims to show the general public all the work of architect-designer Marcel Breuer, who is relatively unknown, and his architecture in particular is often overlooked.
The works being showcased ? furniture and many documents from European private collections ? have been separated into two exhibition spaces representing Sun (villa Noailles) and Shadow (the medieval Tour des Templers ), in the old town of Hyères. The exhibition includes a publication in addition to conferences and meetings with scholars and associates of Marcel Breuer.
