Social participation and reconstruction. Floornature, an international architecture portal based in the area affected, has decided to make an active contribution to reconstruction in Emilia. Floornature will be one of the sponsors of the initiative held by the Italian Chapter of the Royal Photographic Society (CIRPS) in collaboration with Officine International. An interesting photo exhibition will be open on the same dates as the charity auction held free of charge by Sotheby’s. The event will be held at “Gallerie VISIVA - La città dell’immagine” in Rome during the three day exhibition preview on February 18 through 21.

The 60 images on exhibit are both intense and tough, taken by such prominent photographers as Ernesto Bazan, Vasco Ascolini, Davide Monteleone and Angelo Turetta. The images included in the exhibition, which will be open February 22 through March 9, were selected by an international commission chaired by CIRPS president Olivio Argenti FRP.

Visitors will be able to purchase the photographs on exhibit and thus contribute to rebuilding the homes, the streets and the lives of earthquake victims. It is possible to take a “virtual tour” of the exhibition in a gallery.

The proceeds from the initiative will go to Caritas in Modena to help families in Emilia affected by the earthquake, giving priority to families with disabled members, and to Fondazione Francesca Rava - NPH Italia Onlus for reconstruction of ?La Lucciola? Integrated Therapy Centre for Children in Stuffione di Ravarino (MO).
