An exhibition opening on January 30 presents the permanent collection of the Design Museum of London, in “Extraordinary Stories About Ordinary Things”.

Design Museum Permanent Collection
The permanent collection of the Design Museum of London is exclusively dedicated to contemporary architecture and design.
The new exhibition opening January 30, 2013 and continuing for 2 years until 2015 will show the public the architects? work and their intuitions about commonly used objects through six key stories.
The exhibition includes objects by famous designers such as Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Charles Eames, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, to mention only a few, in addition to projects by less well-known designers.
Documents and images introduce museum visitors to the stories and processes that lead to creation of a design project, such as the logo of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Projects which can become symbols of national pride and identity, such as the Olympic logo or the Euro, Sir Giles Gilbert Scott?s London telephone booths or projects made of “new” materials and their development, for instance from plastic appliances and furnishings to use of recycled PET bottles.
