October 20 through December 2 02016 SpazioFMGperl'Architettura, the gallery operated by Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti in Milan, hosts a monographic exhibition about the theoretical research and built projects of an important contemporary architect, Bernard Khoury.

The theoretical research and built projects of Lebanese architect Bernard Khoury and his studio DW5 are featured in a new monographic exhibition that will last all autumn at SpazioFMGperl'Architettura, the gallery and showroom operated by Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti at Via Bergognone 27, Milan.
Son of Modernist architect Khalil Khoury, Bernard Khoury studied in North America and took a master’s degree at Harvard in 1993 before returning to Beirut to found his studio DW5 and design his most important projects.
Projects “with a personality that does not seek mediation” but represents “an ongoing challenge to tired old marketing and the stereotypes that mortify all forms of research” according to Luca Molinari, scientific director and curator at SpazioFMG. These include the famous B 018 (1998), an underground nightclub in a semi-industrial area with a sliding roof that opens up to the sky.

The exhibition, entitled Bernard Khoury. In order of appearance, is curated by Khoury himself with Luca Molinari, in collaboration with Alessandro Benetti and Danielle Makhoul.
It is “an exhibition imagined in an original way by this absolute master of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern architecture” continues Luca Molinari, in which visitors discover the works of Bernard Khoury through more than 100 drawings and photographs and become directly involved with 16 “Talking Objects” hanging in the gallery which are animated by the Lebanese architect’s own voice.
