Allied Works Architecture, Clyfford Still Museum
The collection that will be housed in the museum designed by architect Brad Cloepfil of Allied Works Architecture includes 2400 works (paintings, drawings, sculptures, etc.) representing about 94% of the production of Clyfford Still. Though Still is one of America?s most important artists, much of his work has never been exhibited in public before.

The museum is located in a complex area where the natural landscape meets the city centre, with a blend of historic buildings and new residential constructions.
Brad Cloepfil created a filter between the structure and its context, designing a small deciduous forest, a place of meditation and decompression as one leaves the city.

The building looks like a bare concrete monolith. The façade is made up of thin vertical lines in which the openings are camouflaged: a solution that lightens up the volume, offering a variable surface with natural light.
Sunlight plays a key role in the project. The skylights are intentionally shaped to provide soft light flowing from above into the nine galleries designed to respond to different exhibition requirements.
