International Sustainable Architecture Award
The awards ceremony for Premio Internazionale Architettura Sostenibile Fassa Bortolo - Fassa Bortolo International Sustainable Architecture Awards - was held in Ferrara on June 25, with the involvement of the city?s faculty of architecture, including a section explicitly dedicated to graduates? theses.

A lectio magistralis by Christoph Ingenhoven, founder of “Ingenhoven architects”, preceded the awards ceremony, in which a gold medal was presented to Paredes Pedrosa arquitectos for the UPI School (Spain) and two silver medals were presented to Ingenhoven for the 1 Bligh tower (Australia) by Ingenhoven architects + Architectus and to LAN Architecture for the EDF Archives (France).

The international panel of judges included judges from outside Europe, such as Peter Rich from South Africa and Li Xiaodong from China, further underlining chairman Thomas Herzog?s statement that energy conservation and sustainable architecture are now global concerns no longer limited to western countries alone.
