Foster + Partners and Nissan design the service station of the future
New technologies and scientific progress are having an impact on everyday life as new objects very quickly become part of our daily lives and buildings are being transformed with the creation of new types and reorganisation of others.
The increasing popularity of zero emissions electrical automobiles ' there are expected to be a million of them on the road by 2020 ' will make it necessary to rethink the way service stations are organised to create an innovative, sustainable supply grid.
In view of this, Foster + Partners and automobile manufacturer Nissan have announced that they will work together on the design of a service station for the future.
The final concept will be ready by the end of the year. Underlining the importance of this teamwork,'Jean-Pierre Diernaz, Nissan's Electrical Vehicles manager, says it is the first step in a project for rethinking the mobility of the future and preparing the city for a more sustainable future.
