Raised floors: the open space solution

Application of Granitech raised floors is one of the most advanced, practical forms of flooring project.
In businesses, it is particularly important to allow for potential maintenance work and structural changes.
These are situations which can create a lot of inconvenience, as they are invasive in terms of organisation and logistics (lengthy, expensive, requiring disposal of existing flooring material).
A common example is installation of data transmission lines (electrical, computer network or telephone lines).

Granitech raised floors consist of panels supported by a substructure of columns or crosspieces which can give the building a “new look” with porcelain tiles.
A single project offers two possibilities: raised floors are clearly convenient in the event of future work, which may be performed by shifting a single panel, without interfering with the decking.
In formal terms, the flexibility and speed of installation allows the architect to create spaces in which surfaces are free from obligatory limitations on the positioning of technical installations.
This makes it possible to rethink and rearrange the use of available space, also in terms of interior design, making it easier to move and connect different facilities while ensuring basic freedom in “relationships” throughout the open space.

Granitech's many past projects include a lot of public places such as banks, city halls, offices, agencies, institutions, dealerships, trade fair stands and showrooms.
These are all high traffic public places where people not only pass through but stop and spend a variable amount of time, and the great benefit of raised floors is that they permit free organisation of space and fulfilment of personal logistical requirements, guaranteeing optimal performance with minimal work.
