The attraction of the best floor and wall coverings is most often a matter of colour and brightness. The power that colours exert on our imagination is the key to our choices, and when designing a space it is advisable to dedicate the utmost care to all the possible combinations and evocative connotations, present primarily in different colours and in the effects created by light, both natural and artificial. Though plenty of people have offered their advice as to the best and trendiest colours, there is actually no such thing as the perfect colour, or a colour that should be avoided at all costs. To create the best possible atmosphere in a home or a store, what we need to do is maintain a focus on the goal of our project, being perfectly clear about the sensations we want to convey. Whatever the project, we need to have a vast choice of colours at our disposal to create the best possible setting for our needs.
Tiles in intense or subtle hues or in combinations of contrasting colours can create original, highly personal spaces, particularly when they take advantage of all the aesthetic and luminous potential of porcelain, the most sought-after and technologically advanced product for indoor and outdoor floor surfaces. In addition to its acknowledged material properties, workmanship and ease of installation, porcelain stands out for its ability to enhance the aesthetic qualities of colours and light, as revealed by the many high-tech porcelain collections made by Eiffelgres. We selected two collections for this photo gallery which are very different in colour: the light hues of the Atmosphere collection (Artic and Earth variants) and the bold, dark lines of Grafite. In its two light versions, Atmosphere (including the Ground, Ash and Space colours) is a line of porcelain tiles capable of harmoniously integrating "with elements in the urban and natural landscape in an attempt to find a constant balance between the built environment, earth and space".
Available in numerous finishes and suitable for floors and walls in homes and public spaces, both Artic and Earth have an expressive power rooted in their apparent simplicity.
What emerges in their textures is a characteristic element, the presence of "tone on tone" hues in which the darker and shinier parts of the porcelain tile stand out against a lighter, more opaque base: a particularly elegant touch contributing new luminosity to spaces.
Grafite, with its intense dark colour and natural finish, is the ideal response for a variety of spaces, from living rooms to display spaces (it is perfect for elegant offices and showrooms).
The characteristic aesthetic of its surfaces is based on the variation of colour and light in the tile’s subtle veins: just like stone in nature, Grafite porcelain tiles evoke the "passage of time", guaranteeing light effects and semi-transparencies.
