U Store, Taller13 and the green facade.
The Mexican architecture firm Taller 13 designed a shop in Mexico City combining a green façade with a choice of ecological materials for the interior fittings.

U Store not only sells fashion and urban objects but is an urban object itself at Colonia Condesa, in the Art Déco area of Mexico City; it was designed by the Taller 13 firm headed by Elias Cattan.

The shop’s facade is an abstract configuration of the city’s plan accurately respecting all the solids and voids of its grid. In fact, the green areas of the city correspond to the vertical green vegetation shaped on the facade. The shop interior features noble, natural and non-toxic materials and the multipurpose furniture can be adapted for future use. Lighting is low consumption combined with natural ventilation and certified curtain fabrics.

Here, the Taller 13 firm has designed a shop whose “green” commitment goes well past the façade, extending to the whole outfit and putting a stylish slant on the urban scenario.
