Tag der Architektur in XL size in Berlin

This year's “Tag der Architektur” - Architecture Day - in Germany, took place on 27 and 28 June and major celebrations were organised in Berlin, along with the “make city” architecture festival, giving architecture a unique reason to visit the German capital.



Architecture Day (Tag der Architektur) has a twenty-year tradition and is organised by the regional architects’ associations in Germany with the support of the federal German architects’ association (BAK). In each region, the general public is invited to visit lots of different buildings and offices. This year's theme is “Architektur hat Bestand” or lasting architecture: architecture as a mirror of society, testimony to the spirit of time, a fundamentally sustainable art simply because it is - long-lasting.





A must-see opportunity for architecture buffs, who can get a sneak peak behind the scenes of famous and not-so-famous buildings that are normally not open to the general public. It's even possible to meet and chat with the actual architects. 





In Berlin, “Tag der Architektur” is being celebrated in XL format - as the Berlin association of architects says - at the same time as the “make city” architecture festival: making Berlin not only the capital of Germany, but the capital of German architecture!



And here's one more event not to miss in Berlin right now: on 26 June, the opening of the “architecture room”, the new gallery of Graniti Fiandre and Porcelaingres in Kreuzberg, in the Sarotti-Höfe facilities and curated by Sally Below (sbca) and Volker Halbach (blauraum architekten).
