Natural aesthetics meets urban space, Festival n.a.t.u.r., Bochum “Change”, is the key word in the art and culture festival n.a.t.u.r., celebrated in Viktoria.Quartier, in Bochum, a city in the bay of Ruhr, since 2011. The theme is “ Natural aesthetics meets urban space” and ends up with a bicycle tour of the city - the “VeLo-ve”.

For the fifth time Bochum, a city in the Ruhr bay, presents the festival n.a.t.u.r., a non-profit interactive initiative involving the local population who provide access to workshops, pubs, courtyards and shops to integrate with the activities in the public squares.
From 25th September to 3rd October there will be plenty of events relating to a very hot topic at the moment “Change” which directly concerns Bochum as they are dealing with the difficult destiny of the closure of a big industrial works.

Under the motto “Natural aesthetics meets urban space” the area of  Viktoria.Quartier, one of the creative districts recognised by the Metropole Ruhr initiative, reflects on such concepts as  sustainability, ecology and town planning thanks to art and culture. How can structural, climatic and social changes be dealt with in this historical moment? What does acting responsible mean?
Questions awaiting answers hopefully found all together while enjoying themselves, like in the case of the fourth edition of the festival.
The n.a.t.u.r. festival closes on 3rd October (national holiday in Germany) with the “VeLo-ve” event. A bike ride around the city and sort of treasure hunt for all the family to get to know the city better with its thousands of potentialities thanks to over thirty interactive stations with workshops etc, for an urban future totally on a human scale.
