Master's in Communication for Architecture at IUAV University, Venice

The Level 1 Master's in Communication for Architecture course Architecture Image Communication, instituted by IUAV and coordinated by Professor Angelo Maggi offers a new career opportunity: the visual project director.


Architecture communication has changed radically since the inception of the web and webzines. To be noticed in the boundless world of internet, and more importantly, to leave a mark, these days you really need to know how to use this virtual world, considering the repercussions that the presence on the web has on the practical life of an architecture studio.
Images, from photography to visual identity, keywords, SEO, digital networking and the knowledge of my geographic other are just some of the topics addressed in this new annual master's course offered by the IUAV, developed in collaboration with the international architecture and design portal, Floornature, in turn established in 2001 so backed by lots of experience in web communication for architecture.
The Master's course, which lasts for one year and costs 6000 euros, will run in Venice and Milan. The no more than 20 students will be involved in face-to-face lessons and specific workshops organised into three, 125-hour modules. The first two: “The specifics of the image of architecture” and “Architecture communicated” will be held at the IUAV University in Venice. The third and final module, "Architecture and new media" will be held at SpazioFMGperl'Architettura in Milan.
This is a unique opportunity for architects and professionals in similar fields to pick up new skills in the area of the communication project and use of the web and all its huge potential. Not surprisingly, this new career opportunity is called visual project director, because images dominate the web and our collective imagination, so they need to be designed.
The Master's will also explore the efficient use of social media to build up a digital network, disseminate your work and find new professional outlets or clients.
