- “little daily wonders” best architects 14 exhibition in Lucerne.
“Little daily wonders” is the title of the exhibition in the Kornschütte museum, located in the historical centre of the Swiss city of Lucerne. The perfect location to showcase the 115 projects selected as part of the “best architects 14” awards.
The annual “best architects”, awards address the architectural culture of the German-speaking world, and an extensive overview of this architecture is provided in photos, drawings and text.
Until 31st August, exhibition visitors can get a bird’s-eye view of these “little daily wonders”. Because that’s exactly what they are. Architecture broken down by category: residential, office, trade and industry, other constructions and interiors. Architecture that is not just all showy glitz but that stands out because of the design approach, which aims to beautify and improve the daily life of its users.
40 of the 115 award winning projects, selected from some 455 works submitted to the jury (Johannes Käferstein from Käferstein & Meister, Zurich, Ansgar Schulz from German studio, schulz & schulz architekten, Leipzig, and Johann Traupmann from Pichler & Traupmann, Vienna) come from Switzerland, confirming the important role it plays in architecture.
Our pick? The showcase hothouse in the Zurich botanical gardens, of course!
