FAB Architectural Bureau, Photography,

While awaiting the announcement of the winners of this year’s World Architecture Festival and Next Landmark contest, due to be announced in Berlin next week, we take a look at some of the finalists and winners of past editions.

World Architecture Festival and Next Landmark in Berlin

On November 16, FAB Architectural Bureau Berlin hosts the awards ceremony for the fifth Next Landmark international contest promoted by the Floornature.com portal in partnership with IUSVE. This is also the opening day of WAF: World Architecture Festival, in Berlin for the first time. The international event focusing on architecture will be held in the German capital for next four years.

On the occasion of these two important events, we look back at the winning projects from last year’s festival and contest. At WAF, the prize for World Building of the Year 2015 was awarded to The Interlace, a skyscraper designed by OMA and Buro Ole Scheeren, while the prize for Architectural Photographer of the Year 2015 went to Fernando Guerra for his evocative images of the EPFL (Ecole Polyteqnique fédérale de Lausanne) designed by Richter Dahl Rocha & Associés architectes SA.
At Next Landmark 2015 the prize for Landmark of The Year went to Urban Spa, a project emerging out of a workshop held by studio PKMN with students from ISAD (Instituto Superior de Arquitectura y Diseño) in Chihuahua (Mexico); the award for Research was presented to “Vanilla Ice Cream and Hot Raspberries!” by Tereza Spindlerova and Jana Melber of Stuttgart University in Germany; and the Photography award was presented to Alessandro Speccher of Italy.
