OFIS architects: Alpine barn tourist apartment in Bohinj, Slovenia

OFIS architects converted an old barn near Bohinj, Slovenia into a holiday rental apartment. The traditional construction of the hay barn and stables is maintained on the outside of the building, and converted on the inside to create a space suited for the dynamics of living today.

Cultural Center of European Space Technologies (KSEVT) in Vitanje

Bevk Perovic, Dekleva Gregoric, OFIS and Sadar + Vuga, perhaps the four most important architectural studios in Slovenia today, worked together on the Cultural Center of European Space Technologies (KSEVT) in Vitanje. Opened in 2012, the KSEVT abounds in symbolism linked with the iconography of space exploration.

Compact Karst House: Dekleva Gregorič redesigns the karst rural home

Dekleva Gregorič Arhitekti has designed a new Compact Karst House based on the traditional model of the rural karst home. In the village of Vrhovlje, Slovenia, stands a little house updating the historic style of karst houses: Dekleva Gregorič Arhitekti’s Compact Karst House reconstructs the traditional façade with stones set in concrete.
