Playful and sustainable, Patch City by ROOI Design and Research

The Chinese ROOI Design and Research studio has designed recyclable multifunctional modules to create temporary settings. Between the Patch-City Pavilion and the Patch-City Café, these modules, conceived as "toy building blocks", allow for a free and flexible combination and can be recycled into furniture after use for the installation.

Circular economy applied by Rooi Design and Research

With Pavilion S, a temporary structure built for the 2019 Shanghai International Furniture Fair, the Chinese firm Rooi Design and Research proved that the ideas of the circular economy can be implemented with great success and standout impact. The material from the pavilion was upcycled to make 410 sets of tables and chairs for the use of a community in rural China.
