Faulkner Architects Lookout House, a minimalist house in Sierra Nevada

In Truckee, California, Faulkner Architects have designed the Lookout House, a minimalist concrete house built on the slopes of an extinct volcano. CCL Concept Lighting Lab contributed to the interior and lighting design. The architectural solutions and materials chosen by the architects pay homage to the area and to the landscape, shaped over time by volcanic activity, with elements such as the orange-red coloured glass that frames the large central opening, evoking the incandescent magma, and flooding the rooms with a warm reddish light.
