Aga Khan Award for Architecture 2022: Here are the winners
The six winning projects of the 2022 edition of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, one of the most prestigious architectural awards, were announced on 22 September in Geneva. This accolade rewards both the designers as well as the clients and communities for whom the work was created; the six winners will share a million-dollar prize.

DAAZ Office Jadgal Elementary School Iran
The project designed by DAAZ Office in Seyyed Bar, Iran, is the result of a participatory study supported by all the village inhabitants who invited the commissioning NGO to build a school that could become a centre of sustainable development for the whole community. The project was selected as one of the finalists for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.

The twenty finalists for the Aga Khan Award 2022
Twenty architectural works from 16 different countries around the world, from Indonesia to Cape Verde, will compete as finalists in the 2022 edition of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture (AKAA) to win a share of the generous final prize of $1 million. The finalists were selected by an independent jury from among 463 architectures nominated for the 15th biennial award.

Tabanlioglu Architects Beyazit State Library Istanbul
Tabanlıoğlu Architects completes the restoration of one of the largest and oldest libraries in Istanbul, the Beyazit State Library. Founded in 1884, inside a 16th century building, the library houses more than 25,000 books and rare manuscripts. The project is one of the finalists in the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.

People's Architecture Office - Courtyard House Plugin, Beijing
The Courtyard House Plugin project was developed by the Chinese People's Architecture Office studio, as a modular prefabricated system for installation in courtyard houses. The possibility of applying this design on an urban scale has aroused considerable interest, including at the governmental level. The project is one of the finalists of the Aga Kahn Award 2019.
