Kazunori Fujimoto’s Japanese architecture

Landscape, Residences, Sport & Wellness,

Cement,

The residence designed by Japanese architect Kazunori Fujimoto draws life from its relationship with the surrounding landscape and with the panorama of the Seto Inland Sea.

Kazunori Fujimoto’s Japanese architecture A hill with a splendid view of Seto Inland Sea is the site on which architect Kazunori Fujimoto has built his new private home. Its position in this splendid setting determined the choice of building a transparent construction facing the sea and the mountains, a sequence of comfortable spaces that live in symbiosis with the landscape and the environment around them. The roof covers the entire construction, without distinguishing between inside and outside, with a single large opening over the inner courtyard. To create a sense of more air and space inside the building, the architect chose a curved roof made of cement in a single slab 120 mm thick. The home’s limited size allowed light steel and concrete frames to counterbalance the thrust of the roof without having to build an imposing reinforced concrete structure.
