In the exciting rush and confusion of the 24th edition of CERSAIE, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings held in Bologna September 26 through 30, Floornature editors were made welcome in a comfortable, elegant space: the Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti stand.

The design by Area 17 aimed to create a welcoming business lounge, a relaxing space in which to receive trade fair visitors and present the company’s products in a series of spaces created with perfect harmony between the textures and finishes on the ceramic slabs and the furniture, designed by Baxter and Foscarini. All the custom-made furnishings in the stand – bookshelves, tables, cabinets and chairs - demonstrate the versatility and expressive potential of ceramic surfaces made by Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti.

On the outside, slabs of Statuario Light (FMG Maxfine) cover the entire volume of the stand, creating a clear division between the stand interior and the trade fair hall outside. Effective use of perspective captures visitors’ attention and invites people into the stand, where slabs of different sizes - Steelway (Iris Ceramica - Hi-Lite) Peltro, Rame and Antracite - cover the walls of the spaces.

The reception area, a filter between inside and outside, presented the new lines co-produced under the partnership with Diesel Living: Solid Concrete, Industrial Glass, Camp, Stage and Hard Leather, first presented at FuoriSalone in Milan in the spring of 2016.
