Fact Architects, Zuiderzeeweg, student residences
Fact Architects? design consists of 335 student apartments built using top quality prefabricated units. Each unit has a balcony, windows, underfloor heating and bathroom fixtures completed in the factory and transported to the site. The buildings? position is temporary, and in the future they will be moved to their final location. The dark wood of the façades was chosen to give the complex as a whole a long-lasting, compact look. The outdoor area, on the other hand, is mainly in light colours, with lawns and a playing field between the buildings. The project has been awarded the 2011 VKG Architecture Prize.
