Whoami Summer Camp, design and web 3.0 in Sicily

Whoami is the online on-line teaching platform of Abadir - Accademia di Design e Arti Visive in Catania. Whoami is a young reality navigating the field of education both online and offline, to create a short-circuit between the digital world and the analogue world.



The real world has grown with the times, thanks to the electronic devices that allow us to hook up anywhere and with anyone on the web. As a result, the integration of the “social” aspect in the learning process is become increasingly important as well as being a great way of reaching out to a broader, international usership.



These are the drivers behind the Whoami education project, created by Abadir Accademia di Design e Arti Visive and IdLab with the goal of adapting design training to this ever-changing world. So, through the use of the new social media, the traditional classroom has been replaced by a community, to develop brand new, unique ways of interacting.





Two Summer Camps are being organised in Sicily for the offline part of the course, which includes the Master in Relational Design. 



Architecture, Between the Sea and the Sky will start online on 14 July and will then move offline to the Impact Hub in Siracusa from 4 to 9 August 2014. Here architecture will be used as a tool to convert a place into a state of mind .
On the other hand, the Community Design summer camp will be held online and at the Accademia Abadir di Design e Arti Visive (Abadir design and visual arts academy) in Catania from 19 July to 3 August 2014. The topic is the design and construction of online communities using the learning by doing approach.



Two great opportunities to get to know Sicily – a territory steeped in culture and history – and 3.0 Web, the real challenge for future designers.
