Visual Marketing with Storytelling by Jean de Lessard in Québec Multi award-winning studio Jean de Lessard, Designers Créatifs, based in Montréal, Canada, was the interior designer for the Némeau fresh fish shop in Quebec. The designers applied storytelling to Visual Marketing and created a very special retail space.

We are all familiar with Jules Verne's "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea", of course. Well, the interior design of the “Némeau” fresh fish shop (the name is a tribute to the mysterious captain of the Nautilus) by the team from
Jean de Lessard  focuses on the ties with the sea.

More to the point, Jean de Lessard based his idea on the famous book by the French author to create a store that uniquely brings together contemporary retail needs with the “vintage” ideas of Verne - in other words the design team has combined the purest connotation of storytelling with visual marketing applied to the architectural space.

The designer adopts elements that specifically reference Verne's story: “The rays of the sun struck the surface of the waves at rather an oblique angle, and at the touch of their light, decomposed by refraction as through a prism […]”.
This extract from the novel selected by the design firm perfectly describes the inside of the store, where coloured prisms in nautical tones stand out on walls and ceilings, and the display cases bring to mind icebergs. Even the floor references the timber planks on a ship's decks.

The Némeau fresh fish shop by the multi award-winning French firm, Jean de Lessard is a tangible example of the great importance of storytelling to arrive at a visual marketing project that really grabs you (link book). A precious jewel box containing natural gems - fish and seafood - as an explicit invitation to let your imagination run free, in the kitchen too...
