On 3 December, Tom Kundig, award-winning principal of Seattle-based Olson Kundig Architects, and whose work has received some of the highest design honours – including a 2008 National Design Award from the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and 10 National Design Awards from the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) – will be presenting his lecture, “Tom Kundig Works” at Iowa State University.

This follows his first conference at Tulane University School of Architecture in October and focuses on his work with buildings and landscape, the nature of community and the craft of building. A great opportunity for the general public to get to know Tom Kundig’s origins and influences and how they have shaped his work.

One of the hallmarks of Olson Kundig Architects is developing sustainable, long-lasting architecture. Their architects are experienced with LEED certified design, the Living Building Challenge and the Passive House standard. They work with artists and craftspeople in nearly all their projects, as part of their integral approach.
